What's new?
FLATCAST-Version F5 (RC1) released!!!!

Author Thema
Hi @all,

version F5.2 is now available for all users. The essential modifications are described in the following topic.

How to use F5.2? ... Either register a new stream (and select F5.2) or modify your existing stream record:

1. Export your presets, by means of the FC-version you used so far.

2. If your stream is on air please stop it.

3. In 'Boadcasters area' click at "Change stream's data' and select in form 'additional settings' version F5.2.

4. During next stream start you will download the new control. Your user have to download the new player control, too.

5. Especially Vista-User hav to (re-)import their presets (see 1.).

Though the software is tested very well, new releases usually cause some problems (we try to solve problems and fix possible bugs as soon as possible). If there is a big problem ... stop stream, select in stream record version F5 and restart your stream.

Have fun

~~~ Release Notes for 5.2 Producer ~~~
There are interesting changes for the chat, the video input and the connectivity.
Chat
###
  • All chat settings can be controlled via the new chat control dialog. The dialog opens with a click on the top-level row of the producer user list (with special chat status icons, see http://www.flatcast.com/de/FcForum.aspx?forum=4513#67270)
  • The settings are stored permanently. If you select the "Open Chat" option, then it will be used after the next start or a takeover.
    The "Login Required" and "Private Allowed" options in the preset design mode have been removed. The "Enable Autofill" option has been removed, too (it is always active).
  • Guests can be blocked completely from the chat, i.e. they can neither read nor write (for details see http://www.flatcast.com/de/FcForum.aspx?forum=4513#67270)
  • User that have left the chat will stay for 60 seconds in the producers user list, with a "[Bye]" prefix. This allows to ban users after they have left the chat.
    Presets
    #####
    Pictures and background must be loaded from an URL, the file loading is no longer supported (the reason is that streaming the pictures takes a long time)
    Note that old presets are still supported.
    Video- and Audio-Source
    ################
    The video and audio sources are no longer stored in the preset. Instead, the last selected value is stored permanently (in the registry). At start the producer will try to open this device; if it is not possible, all other available devices are tested until one opens. The device is only changed when the user selects a new device.
    WDM Video
    #######
    The video input was changed from VfW (Video for Windows) to WDM driver. WDM is the current Windows driver format, which is supported by most hardware.
    ... and many small changes, improvements and bug fixes, like:
    • correct color selection under vista
    • better connectivity (user can enter more easily)
    • installation without admin rights
    • better handling of "Multiple Instances"
    • improved intranet connectivity
    Have fun with the new producer,
